ARAirSolutions.com is the newest addition to the Askew Media Portfolio. This website was a redesign for a client of Hoopla Media Group. Using PHP includes, valid XHTML, and valid CSS, I created a fast loading, error-free website with optimized code and images for proper search engine ranking. The layout and graphics are clean and simple. The home page has a flash gallery that rotates 3 images. All content and logo provided by client.

HooplaMediaGroup.com is the newest addition to the Askew Media Portfolio. A standard XHTML, CSS2 website built with PHP includes for easy maintenance. The logo was provided by the client, the rest of the graphics were custom designed. I used HTML semantics in the coding of this website and microformatting for SEO as well as relevant metatags, title tags, and keywords. The website is still a work in progress as there will be more pages added.

NissaAskew.com is the newest addition to the Askew Media Portfolio. This is my personal art portfolio website that I use to display all of my creative endeavors, including websites. The website is built on the WordPress platform. For the portfolio gallery, I used jQuery to display images. However, I may change this feature in the near future to something more manageable and custom built. The current jQuery script used to run this gallery was written by the very talented web developer, Soh Tanaka.

Askew Media needed a new business card to go with the newly redesigned site. I wanted to create something that was clean, simple, modern, and nice to look at. These cards were printed with a matte finish on a 100-lb. Premium Matte Paper to give it a modern but simple look and feel. The information on the card is simple and to the point. It contains my name, title, contact information and my handle for Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, and Facebook. I also left plenty of open space on a lighter colored background for the back of the card for a place to write down notes, if needed.

Here is a video that has spread like wildfire across the internet. Watch the video and you will see why. Invasion of the Pixels, by Patrick Jean is a clever and visually stunning work of art. The video starts off with a giant blob of pixels that kind of remind me of the smoke monster in the TV show, Lost. It invades NYC with Galaga-looking ships and Frogger dodging city traffic and Donkey Kong on the State Empire Building and pixel bombs. It’s a must see. Enjoy!

There are still a few tasks to be done before I can claim this website to be 100% complete. The ‘About’ page still needs to be recoded as well as the ‘Privacy Policy’ and ‘Terms of Service’ page. The blog page (obviously), search page, and archive page will also have a new layout. On the archive page, I will add pagination for easier page navigation. I also have plans to redesign the contact page using a new form system. I am currently using the ‘Contact Form 7′ WordPress plugin. However, recently I was searching for WordPress plugins to use for my latest web design project with WEDU.org and came across a very powerful, highly customizable contact form plugin by the name of cformsII.

Once I complete the pages mentioned above, I am going to build an HTML sitemap, optimize and compress both my CSS and Javascript files, and optimize my HTML code for faster page loading. Later, I am going to either search for a jQuery or AJAX gallery or build a gallery from scratch for my portfolio page. Effective immediately, Askew Media will also drop support for IE6. Come on web designers, lets unite and get rid of IE6 once and for all!

Some other plans I have for the site and Askew Media is to integrate a customer login system so that my clients can log into a web interface and request changes, make payments, download past receipts, etc. Within the next year, I plan to offer live video conferencing in order for my non-local clients so that they can ‘meet me’. And there will be many more useful features that I will add to the site and/or the overall Askew Media business model.

There will be a new mobile version optimized for iPhone and iTouch browsers as well as the Andriod browser. I will also be starting an email newsletter geared towards the consumer that will include helpful articles about web design, internet advertising, search engine optimzation as well as occasional discounts and coupons. One of the biggest new features will be the new client section that will allow clients to log into an account to view invoices, make payments, send update requests and more.

Progress is coming along well. So far I have redesigned most of the new graphics including the askew media logo, recoded and minified the CSS files to allow for faster pasge loading, and recoded some of the HTML to help with better search engine placement for the common web design keywords.
